Leadership Development

Ambition School Leadership

This offer is fully-funded for eligible schools in Doncaster as part of the Department for Education’s Teaching Leadership and Innovation Fund (TLIF).

Teaching Leaders and Future Leaders are intensive, two-year leadership development programmes aimed at high potential middle and senior leaders from challenging schools. Teaching Leaders provides high potential middle leaders with training and coaching to develop in their current jobs, raise attainment within their schools and develop their potential for senior leadership. The programme is suitable for middle leaders (e.g. heads of department, heads of year and those in whole-school middle leadership roles) who are focused on improving pupil outcomes and increasing their impact as a leader. Drawing on sector-led expertise, the programme has a core curriculum focused on leading teaching.Future Leaders provides high potential senior leaders with training, coaching and mentoring to develop the skills needed for headship in challenging schools. Future Leaders is suitable for senior leaders (e.g. deputy headteacher or equivalent in secondary schools; deputy and assistant headteachers in primary schools) with the potential to take up a headship position in a challenging school within two to three years of joining the programme. Alongside a blend of face-to-face delivery and online learning, leaders on both programmes are required to undertake an extended, school-based improvement initiative and are expected to make a measurable impact to improve pupil achievement and build leadership capacity and capability in their school.

Challenge Partners

We have funded the development of a Challenge Partners hub in Doncaster. The goal of Challenge Partners is to reduce the educational inequality and improve the life chances of all children. Through collaboration, challenge and professional development they are working to ensure every school community can benefit from the combined wisdom of the whole system.

This is a great opportunity for schools to access networks of expert professionals, events, knowledge sharing and a rigorous annual school review from partners in the network.

You can find out more on Challenge Partners here.
