What is an insight guide?
Sharing learning is at the heart of the Opportunity Areas programme and this has never been clearer than in Year 5 of the programme. This year focusses on consolidation, sustainability and on spreading impact to other places. All partnership boards have been asked to expand their reach and impart the knowledge they have gained, and around 20% of total funding will be used for sharing learning with other areas facing similar challenges.
Beyond the funded activities our areas are sharing with others as a part of the ‘twinning’ agenda , we have also considered other ways to spread knowledge, excellence and best practice to the wider system as a whole. Our suite of insight guides have been developed by people who have been closely involved in the projects. They give the view of the lived experience of those working hard to make a difference in the opportunity areas. They offer the chance to gain insights into this place-based way of working, with a view to exploring similar approaches and interventions to help young people elsewhere and help level up our country.
The insight guides will cover a range of areas, including but not limited to:
- careers education
- teacher recruitment, retention and workforce development
- early years
- school improvement
- place based working
