The Geographical Association and Association for Science Education continuous professional development programme aims to develop the critical use of evidence in geography and science classrooms, for both primary and secondary teachers. Specifically aiming to develop pedagogy that enables teachers to acquire knowledge in science and geography through critical use of evidence and argument that leads to improved engagement and attainment
This has been fully-funded by the Department for Education.
The purpose of TSST is to:
- improve the subject knowledge of non-specialist teachers and returning teachers
- increase the numbers of hours taught in the targeted subject
TSST is available in the 2019/20 academic year in:
- secondary mathematics
- core maths
- modern foreign languages (MFL)
Teachers (including NQTs) can take part in TSST if they have not undertaken ITT in the subject they have applied for.
